In this one-day intensive workshop, 150 selected participants will learn key campaign skills from renowned political operatives in a non-partisan, non-ideological environment. Veterans Campaign, led by executive director Seth Lynn, a Naval Academy graduate and former Marine Corps Assault Amphibian Officer, strives to demystify the process of campaigning and to encourage more veterans to continue their legacy of public service after separating from the military. “Veterans possess many qualities our country needs in its public officials,” said Dr. Charles Cushman, acting director of GW’s Graduate School of Political Management and a West Point graduate. “They have outstanding leadership experience and are capable of succeeding in the face of adversity. This workshop will help them leverage their military experience into critically important civilian roles.” GW’s Graduate School of Political Management offers graduate programs in political management, legislative affairs, public relations, and PAC management, as well as international programs in Latin America and Europe. The school seeks to improve politics by educating its students and professionals about the tools, principles and values of participatory democracy; preparing them for careers as ethical and effective advocates and leaders at the international, national and local levels. |
