For more than a decade, the GSPM has become known as a respected resource for leadership training across Latin America and Europe, focused on supporting democracy, human, and economic rights.
The Political Management and Governance Program
Sponsored by the Corporacion Andina de Formento (Andean Development Bank), the Political Management and Governance Program is unique in its efforts to establish a balance between social, economic, and political development in countries undergoing transformation. The program focuses on improving decision-making, communication and implementation, teaching best practices in political management, applying these to the circumstances of local governments, and assisting in the ongoing efforts of modernizing democratic institutions.
The program has educated more than 7,500 leaders from throughout the political spectrum and from more than eight Latin American countries. The program’s classroom courses are conducted in cooperation with prestigious universities including the Universidad de San Andres and Universidad Nacional de Rosario in Argentina, Universidad Autonoma de Mexico, Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru, Universidad Catolica Santiago del Peru, Universidad Autonoma de Panama, and Universidad Catolica Andres Bello of Venezuela.
Collaborative Graduate Programs with International Universities
As part of the GSPM’s global effort to educate and train the next generation of political leaders, the school has established collaborative graduate programs with leading international universities. Currently, the GSPM is proud to partner with the UNIVERSITY OF NAVARRA, PAMPLONA, SPAIN and with IULM UNVERSITY, MILAN, ITALY.
Seminars in Washington, D.C.
The GSPM holds three annual seminars focused on specific areas of political management. The Electoral Campaigning seminar allows attendees to study the tools of a successful campaign, the formulation of strategies, the creation of an effective message, the techniques of direct contact, and the mobilization of volunteers. The Political Management seminar brings global experts to GW to demonstrate real-world scenarios of their success in governments and governmental agencies. The Political Communication and Marketing seminar brings the GSPM together with global leaders, experts and academics, and explores the actions of governmental administrations around the world.
