GW's Graduate School of Political Management (GSPM) will host its 7th International Executive Seminar on Political Management and Governance with 80 leaders scheduled to attend. Attendees will be exposed to topics such as political negotiation and will take home a model -- "The Model in Situational Gaming" -- developed by GSPM professor Luis Matos to handle problems of governance.
Alejandro Toledo, the former President of Peru, will talk about the governing strategies of Peru and recent election results. Teodoro Petkoff, former Venezuelan presidential candidate and permanent speaker at the Interamerican Dialogue, together with Pablo Perez, the governor of Zulia, the oil state of Venezuela and current presidential candidate, will be analyzing the governability problems of Venezuela.Alejandro Grisanti, director of economics at Barkley's Bank, will present future politico economic scenarios of Ecuador and Dominican Republic and its impact on governability. Andoni Aldekoa, chief of the cabinet of Bilbao and member of the political consultant association of Spain, will talk about the crisis of Spain and the rising of the M20 movement.

Former Presidential Pollsters Mark Penn, Ed Goeas, Stan Greenberg and Polling Expert Bill Schneider Kick-Off The Society of Presidential Pollsters Inaugural Lecture
Hosted by GW’s Graduate School of Political Management (GSPM), The Society of Presidential Pollsters will present its inaugural lecture, “An Evening with the Pollsters General.” Moderated by U.S. News and World Report’s Ken Walsh, veteran pollsters Mark Penn, Stan Greenberg, Ed Goeas and polling expert Bill Schneider will discuss the role that pollsters play in presidential elections and while a president is in office.
Founded in 2010, The Society of Presidential Pollsters is a Washington, D.C.-based academic and professional organization that honors the work of pollsters who have served a sitting president. The organizations seeks to archive and preserve the work of those who have polled for a sitting president, collect and share the history of the presidential pollster and stimulate debate and camaraderie in the profession through special events and gatherings. The organization works closely with GW’s Graduate School of Political Management to locate and obtain records of the polling and related analysis done for the Oval Office. The university’s Estelle and Melvin Gelman Library acts as the official repository to preserve everything from questionnaires and memoranda to letters and memorabilia in order to establish the society as the premiere academic resource for the study of presidential decision making. George Washington University’s Graduate School of Political Management (GSPM) International will host Mayor of Buenos Aires Mauricio Macri on March 16 during its four day seminar entitled, “Keys For A Successful Campaign – Tools And Techniques To Succeed.” The seminar will focus on best practices of organizing a campaign in Latin America.
GSPM International enables governments and political leaders to create a more direct, representative and transparent political environment in their countries and throughout the world.
GSPM International accomplishes this vision by:
Holding seminars, conferences, workshops, trainings and consultations both on-campus and across the continent, with the aim of strengthening democracies and professionalizing regional policy
Designing academic outreach and consulting programs outside of the United States for elected officials, candidates, students, entrepreneurs, corporations, government agencies and NGOs. These programs tap into the GSPM's professional and academic community of experts, who teach the theory and practice of the political management discipline, a field that is gaining ground around the world
Conducting joint master’s programs with universities and organizations in Bruges, Belgium; Navarra, Spain; and Tokyo, Japan

GW’s Graduate School of Political Management in partnership with Penn Schoen Berland and Burson-Marsteller will host prominent political strategists Mark Penn and Karen Hughes to discuss whether the midterm elections will result in deals or gridlock. NBC News Correspondent Mike Viqueira will moderate.
Event attendees are invited to a public reception following the discussion.
Mark Penn is the CEO Worldwide of Burson-Marsteller, a leading global public relations and communications firm, and the CEO of Penn Schoen Berland, a strategic research-based communications consultancy. He served as chief adviser to President Clinton and was the senior strategist for Hillary Clinton's campaigns for the Senate and the presidency.
Karen Hughes is the Global Vice Chairman of Burson-Marsteller, where she provides clients with senior level communications strategy and counsel. She served as Counselor to President George W. Bush, advising him on policy and communications and managing the White House Offices of Communications, Media Affairs, Speechwriting and Press Secretary.
Mike Viqueira is an award-winning NBC News correspondent who spent eleven years covering Capitol Hill as both a producer and reporter before moving to the White House beat. He is a two-time Emmy award winner, for his work covering the congressional response to the financial crisis and on Election Night 2008.
