On Tuesday, March 16 from 6pm until 8:30pm, the GSPM will be holding one-on-one sessions for current students and alumni on how to build your resume and give you tips to help land that perfect "political" job.
These 10 minute sessions are perfect for students and alumni that want to make sure their resume is making the most impact and who want to make sure they are doing all they can to get and stay employed in a political career and during a tough job market.
The sessions can be free flowing, but some ideas of what to discuss include:
- Building your political resume to make sure it gets noticed
- The Art of the Cover letter and Writing Samples
- Interview Tips
- Networking Advice - how to build and use your network
The individual sessions will be held by GSPM professor and alum, Carrie Giddins. Giddins runs her own communications consulting firm and has been involved in politics for over 15 years. This semester she is teaching a unit of Communications Elements.
Please fill out the linked form below to provide some information and pick your time to meet with Giddins, as these are one-on-one sessions. Do not forget to bring a few copies of your resume and any cover letters you may want to review. And please be on time, as these are only ten minute sessions to enable us to get in as many students as possible.
