National Capital Access Forum: "Financing Minority Businesses in Challenging Economic Times"
The U.S. Department of Commerce’s Minority Business Development Agency is partnering with the Capital Access Forum to seize the initiative in developing solutions that will increase access to capital for small and minority businesses.
Forum participants will hear from entrepreneurs, key members of Congress, various Cabinet Departments, representatives of the banking and insurance communities, private equity and investment companies, business and minority advocacy organizations and small business groups.
The Forum seeks to address the sometimes overwhelming issues that small and minority businesses face, chief among which is access to financing.
Small and minority companies are integral to the functioning of the country. They need to be a part of the evolving measures being devised to address the acute economic downturn and financial crisis in the United States.
No solution can be complete if it excludes this significant segment of the economy and, working with the Capital Access Forum, the MBDA has initiated a series of forums to develop specific solutions.
